Profile of Sanjay Jain

Dr. Sanjay Jain is a professor of Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi.

He has done his Bsc Physics ( Honours ) in 1979 from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi and his Masters in Physics from Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi. After this he did his PhD. in Theoretical Physics from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai in 1987.

He is a Member of External Faculty, Santa Fe Institute, Santa Fe, NM, USA
He is also a Honorary Faculty Member, Condensed Matter Theory Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India

His research interests include :

  • Structure and dynamics of complex networks, including chemical, biological, and socio-economic networks
  • Mathematical modelling of complex adaptive systems, evolutionary mechanisms
  • Models of non-equilibrium statistical mechanics
  • Non-linear dynamics, random matrix models and quantom chaos
  • Quantum field theory, superstring theory and quantum gravity
