Human Computer Interfaces

The Human Computer Interaction is characterised by the GUI design and multimodal I/O devices. At CRCS this area has been of special interest because we feel that computers are more than just a PC with Internet connectivity. By interfacing appliances to the computer or embedding the computer within the appliance, the human beings can not only interact with the computer but also with sophisticated devices through the computer. Thus, the Human Computer Interface for CRCS is not just the GUI design but also the design of application specific devices with embedded computers and the synergistic interaction of these devices with the human beings. CRCS also deals with issues associated with designing and building of the interfaces, both wired to the computer and wireless, so as to enable humans to acquire information and interact with the external world through the computer
