Perception Recording System (WPRS) The PC-based WPRS software allows the analyst to play the pre-recorded content while recording the audience responses synchronously. For example the analyst can play a video CD containing a TV serial. On the other hand if the event is live event such as a political speech, this software allows recording the speech audio synchronously with the audience response. Once the response is recorded, the analyst can play it back together with the original content that was shown to the audience (serial, advertisement, speech, etc.). The system can provide the analysts with response output in various forms. It could either be a line graph of the form shown in figure below. This shows the overview of the entire session in one screen. The blue line is the average of all stations. The red lines across the blue line indicate the standard deviation, i.e. the difference of opinion among the audience. Currently the WPRS is being used by customers to assess responses to advertisements and serials before they go on air. The customers modify the advertisements and serials depending on the audience response. Since WPRS currently enables sixteen people to view and give responses in a session, multiple sessions are held to cater to a larger audience. Efforts are on to merge the data from various sessions and present one consolidated picture.
