| One of the most popular
offerings under the NIIT SWIFT umbrella of programs, SWIFT Jyoti has
been effectively used to proliferate computer literacy among the masses
and help India bridge the digital divide. The program designed by
Dr. Sugata Mitra and the Design Lab of CRCS aims at acquainting individuals
with computers and helping global citizens gain IT literacy. more
The program NIIT's pioneering education initiatives such as World Computer Literacy Day and International Women's Month (IWM) have used SWIFT Jyoti as the key vehicle to deliver computer knowledge to thousands of global citizens. Targeted at the broadest section of society-from six to sixty year olds-SWIFT Jyoti has enabled a large number of individuals citizens to experience their first brush with computers. SWIFT Jyoti employs a task-oriented techniques relevant to daily life, to make computer learning easy for the ordinary person. A program with life-relevant content for women is also available. The content The SWIFT Jyoti program is a complete portfolio of contemporary IT skill sets that enable learners to successfully use computers both at home and in the workplace. The course content covers the following areas: - Word Processing - Spreadsheets - Presentations - Graphics and pictures - Internet browsing - Online chatting Duration The duration of the SWIFT Jyoti program is 18 hours. |
